Association: Olivier des Sages
Located in the 3rd district of Lyon, volunteers meet at the Olivier des Sages to support seniors (especially those of immigrant background) and maintain their social ties. Seniors meet in the Kfé social Philippe Jeantet to ask for administrative help and participate in activities organized by the association. A Social & Solidarity grocery store has been set up to relieve destitute seniors. The grocery store offers a supply of basic necessities (food, hygiene, maintenance) with a financial participation of 10 to 30% of the real cost. It also offers weekly workshops to its members with the aim of informing and preventing the beneficiaries on budget management.
Project supported: When youth meets wisdom
These are inter-generational cooking workshops led by dieticians and bringing together some
thirty people: 10 young people and 20 seniors. The objective is multiple, to raise awareness of the
food balance, to discover new food habits and other flavors, to reinforce the
intergenerational links If the preparation of the meal is a time of learning, it is also the moment to exchange recipes, desires, know-how. It's a way to tell stories and to create reassuring links between young and old. These relationships are strengthened during the meals shared together to appreciate and comment on the dishes prepared.
The Foundation financed the purchase of kitchen equipment to enable the implementation of these workshops.
