Voice-givers tell us great stories

The Lille Sound Library, an association made up of young, dynamic and willing retirees. An intense investment allowing people who are passionate about reading to continue to travel through books even when their glasses no longer allow it...

How does it work? Volunteers called Voice Givers record audio books which are then put on a platform for audio readers to download and listen to or are sent in CD format directly to members.

A very complete catalogue of registered books: from novels to thrillers, philosophy, history, science, theatre, poetry and many other genres.

Young and modern volunteers and an old computer system don't mix well, it slows them down and prevents them from working in good conditions. In order to help them in their work and to allow them to register even more books, the On Seniors' Side Foundation has helped them to modernise their entire computer system.

We went to meet them with Perrine Bruggeman, the representative of the Foundation at Afibel, and Caroline Marchand, the godmother of the project, who is passionate about books and volunteers in a library in her spare time. We were greeted by big smiles, they also told us the beautiful history of their association and some funny anecdotes.

This association with a big heart needs help, they are actively looking for voice givers, they coach you in very comprehensive training to become a beautiful book voice. This call is addressed to all reading enthusiasts who want to offer their time for others!

We invite you to check out their website (link below) to join them!
