Dorothée Fleury, patron of the DK Pulse association

  • What is the association you sponsor? How do you know it?

I learned about DK Pulse from a former employee of the company. Every year DK Pulse supports more and more seniors through adapted physical activity programmes with the aim of :

  • Encourage the resumption of physical activity (targeted muscle strengthening, moderate endurance work, flexibility, coordination, spatial and temporal orientation, relaxation, posture, agility in movement, self-confidence)
  • To encourage and support the practice of this activity in all safety, how/what intensity, in order to stay healthy.
  • Avoiding health problems linked to a sedentary lifestyle
  • Keeping seniors healthy

Today, Dk pulse wants to go further by "reaching out" to the people who are furthest away from physical activity thanks to the Mobile APAs: " If you don't come to sport, sport comes to you ". Mobile APAs are buses transformed into "mobile gyms", offering an innovative solution to help people get back into sport.

  • Why do you support the association?

As a sportswoman, I am convinced of the benefits of sport and its many advantages. When I discovered that DK Pulse was proposing to promote adapted physical activity for seniors "If you don't come to sport, sport comes to you" : I was seduced and really motivated to get involved with the association. It is not always easy for some seniors to get to a gym and to have easy access to a sport. These sessions are also a great opportunity to meet people, exchange ideas, create a social link... The principle of going to meet them and offering them a sporting interlude really won me over!

  • In a few words, how does the Foundation help the association?

The Foundation will support the association by funding 10 adapted physical activity programmes (APA). This programme consists of two 1.5 hour sessions of sport per week for two months for a senior citizen. These sessions take place in a "mobile APA" bus in rural communities.

  • If you could describe your experience with the association in one or two sentences:

A great collaboration that is starting and a real desire to invest in this project! I plan to go there and discover the "APA mobile" bus and the activities proposed.
